What are cheese curds: Cheese curds are the moist pieces of curdled milk that can either be eaten alone as a snack, or used for other things. Their flavor is mild with the same firmness as cheese; but, has a springy or rubbery texture. Fresh cheese curds squeak against the teeth when bitten into which some would say is their defining characteristic giving them the common name of "squeakers”.
What to do with them? One of the most common questions we are asked: "What do I do with cheese curds?” Answer: "You eat them!" In addition to eating them as a snack, there are a variety of different uses; one of the trendy new ways to eat curds is to pair them with a delicious balsamic vinegar. You may also melt curds on top of a pizza or chop curds and add them into a tossed salad. Other ideas include making antipasti skewers or toss them into a cold pasta with sun dried tomatoes and olives.
