If you’ve heard of Straus Family Creamery (the first organic dairy west of the Mississippi), the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (the first agricultural land trust in America), their roots run deep at the historic Straus Home Ranch.

Our family's beautifully renovated 1864 farmhouse and ranch, surrounded by towering eucalyptus and cypress trees, on 166 certified organic acres, on the shores of Tomales Bay. In addition to being one of the oldest certified organic ranches in California, and providing grazing pastures for our neighbor's organic dairy cows, we host farm stays, private events and retreats, farm tours and artisan cheese tastings. The ranch is owned by siblings Vivien, Michael and Miriam. And ... Vivien created the Cheese Trail! She and Michael collaborate to run / manage both the ranch and Cheese Trail.
