Since 1968, when her parents founded their goat dairy farm in Sonoma County, California Jennifer Bice has been intimately involved in raising goats, milking goats and making goat cheese. In 1978, at the tender age of twenty-three, Jennifer Bice took over the goat farm from her parents. Over time, her passionate interest in dairy goats and artisanal foods led her to become an award-winning goat breeder and cheesemaker.
Located in warm and verdant Sebastopol, Jennifer’s champion herd of Nubian, Alpine, Saanen, and LaMancha dairy goats have garnered numerous awards and serve as seed stock for other dairy goat farmers. Caring deeply about animals, Redwood Hill Farm became the first goat dairy in the United States to qualify for the Certified Humane® label by Humane Farm Animal Care (HFAC) in 2005.
Though the Sebastopol creamery has recently been sold, Jennifer is the Managing Director, in addition to continued ownership of her goat dairy farm. Redwood Hill Farm goat milk cheeses have won many 1st place, Gold Medal and Best in Show awards. They are made with fresh Grade A goat milk. Never standardized or homogenized, the milk is used just as it comes from the goats: fresh, pure, and delicious.
